What is Truth Anymore?

It seems we are all asking the same question these days, “Who can I trust? Where can I find accurate, reliable information anymore?”
I chose my career based on trusting medical science. I specialized in community health and adopted the mantra of following fool-proof “evidenced-based” data. I always thought my freedom-loving government would do everything to protect me and never harm me. I believed that the majority of the institutions in my country – religious, academic, medical, government – were generally good.
I was wrong.
My eyes have been opened to see that institutions once founded on absolute truth have wavered.
- Science has been bought out and can’t be trusted. This is profoundly evidenced by all the “experts” on every side producing their own “science-based conclusions” that end up contradicting each other when compared side by side.
- Pharmacology has been bought out and can’t be trusted. They caught the greed factor and now want to keep us sick so they can continue their multi-billion dollar industry of dependent sick care. They manufacture meds with side effects, and then create meds to address the side effects, only to need and create meds to help with the side effects from the side effects, all while minimizing and censoring any natural solutions for wellness. It’s a corrupt scheme.
- Government has been bought out and can’t be trusted. The media also. Governmental agencies, like the F d A and W h O and N i H and C d C have been bought out, are corrupt and cannot be trusted blindly like we used to.
Goodness, it’s frustrating. I get it. We want someone to trust. But who? What? Where? It’s all so confusing and overwhelming and maddening. We just want answers, and answers that we know that we know that we know are true. Unfortunately, they aren’t to be found.
And get this! It’s actually prophesied that in the last days, truth will be difficult to ascertain. We are right on schedule!
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be…always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
Did you catch that? “Always learning”… but never landing on actual truth. Boy, if that doesn’t describe our culture, I don’t know what does! We have constant access to more knowledge than ever before, yet we are as confused as ever. Once again, prophecy is fulfilled.
But I have good news! We are not without Truth! In fact, we have the Absolute Truth available to us that will never change and WILL provide direction and discernment for every single situation.
I find it so interesting that the lines of “truth” are being intentionally blurred in this age. The enemy is doing his part to deceive as many as he can and cause as much confusion and chaos as possible. But God is not a God of confusion or overwhelm or frustration. He offers truth and in that truth, peace and hope and love.
Later we will chat about HOW God’s Word can apply truth to these uncertain and shaky times… but for today, I encourage you to stop seeking truth from sources that have an agenda. You’ll only be frustrated. Instead, open God’s Word and let His Absolute Truth give you the peace and foundation you’re seeking. He IS Truth.
