Preparing our Kids for their Future

I feel prompted to share this tonight and not sure why…. but I hope it inspires someone. 😉😘
As a parent, I feel a deep responsibility to prepare my kids for what they will face as adults. Considering the worsening chaos in our world, there was a time when I was mad at God for putting me and my kids in THIS generation, this unsettled time in history. They will most likely face persecution for their Christian beliefs at some point in their future – and this realization made me so upset!
A couple things changed my perspective. David did a sermon series on Revelation – and I saw so clearly how GOD WINS!! And all the trouble here on this earth during the last days is very temporary. 🙌
I also heard a sermon by Voddie Bauchum, where he said it is a GOOD thing for Christians to have children during troubling times; we have the privilege of raising mighty warriors for the Kingdom of God. 🙌 THAT is my prayer for my boys….

So early on in our homeschooling journey, we started an almost-daily routine of reading a story from the Voice of the Martyrs magazine. The stories are not overly gruesome, but they detail the sacrifices Christians are making today for their faith.
Hear me on this… I want my boys to grow up and not be caught off guard when persecution happens to them. I want them to know in their core that persecution is actually normal for believers – Jesus promised it would happen!
We’ve enjoyed religious freedom for so long in our country that we’ve gotten weak when it comes to persecution and attacks on our faith. Not our boys. They will know upfront the cost of following Christ and in their heart, they will be surrounded by so “great a cloud of witnesses” from these stories of mighty men and women who risked all for Christ. ☝️
